the ancient vellum felt soft between her callosed fingers. like the wing of a some preserved butterfly, it could crumble with a breath…and yet the smell, drew her in. an aroma loved-learned from a childhood amid her grandmothers musty things. a smell that begat comfort and antiquity and something more intangible…home.
